Every floor is different, so reputable specialists price each job after seeing it. A single squeaky stair is a quick fix; a whole upstairs level with dozens of squeaks across hardwood is a bigger job. That's why we give a free in-home assessment and an itemised quote you approve before any work begins.
What affects the cost
A few factors move the number up or down:
- How many squeaks and how large the area is.
- Floor type — carpet and accessible subfloor are quicker than colour-matched hardwood work.
- Access — whether we can reach the subfloor from a basement or must work from above.
- Whether the cause is surface-level or structural (joist reinforcement).
Repair vs. replacement
The most important number is the one you avoid: replacement. Tearing out and reinstalling a floor costs many times more than a targeted squeak repair — plus days of disruption. Because we fix squeaks using your existing floor and structure, you keep your floor and pay a fraction of replacement.
